Going to keep it real, I am a fan of Bleach. Needless to say, I have been wanting the last arc to get animated for a while now. As I have read the manga and there were a lot of things that happened that I would wonder what it would look like if it were animated. One thing that I am glad about it is that it is available on streaming and not on regular television. Why do you say that Jay? Easy they can do a better representation of the manga this way. On tv, a lot of things were censored which to me, was unfortunate. In the original animation, they would work around it by showing certain scenes in black and white or it would take place off-screen. Well, 5 episodes in, and needless to say the action (unmitigated violence) is turned all the way up. I had to go back and read the manga just to make sure but yeah the beginning of the arc is very brutal. I like that the animation team is not shying away from it as a matter of fact they are full-on embracing it. Another thing that I think is helping is the strides in animation that have come in the 10 years since Bleach originally went off the air. The animation looks fantastic and it gives me a great feeling that some of those scenes from the manga will be adapted in very cool ways. Anyway next episode people will be in for a real treat as we finally get to see Genryuusai fight and unleash his Bankai.
