Bayonetta 3 Trailer Thoughts We Got A Release Date

Coming to Nintendo Switch on 10-28-2022

Thoughts

Yesterday Nintendo dropped a new trailer for Bayonetta 3, one of the games I am looking forward to this year, and announced the release date. Looks like October was the winner of the 'when is this game going to release sweepstakes', my money was on late September for the release but I'm okay with it being October. As far as the trailer is concerned we got introduced to the new witch Viola who gives off strong Nero vibes from the Devil May Cry games. It was also confirmed that she would be playable. The trailer also introduces the homunculi which will be the majority of the fodder for this game. There is also another cool mechanic that is teased in the trailer and that appears to be a sort of "demon fusion". The trailer shows Bayonetta fusing with Madame Butterfly for some nice combos. There also seem to be other fusions that will take place as well. As far as the visuals are concerned the trailer looks great and it looks like the team is moving forward with colors that pop. I liked how Bayonetta 2 looked and this looks to be along those lines. I love Bayonetta's new design too. While I didn't mind the Bayo 2 design I think this looks better. It also looks like the gang is all here too. Enzo, Luka, Rodin, and Jeanne are all in the trailer and I'm wondering how they will play into the story. The little pieces of gameplay that were shown look great but I would really like to see a Treehouse Live for this game. Trailer snippets don't do justice to what that combat will probably be. Also, I would love to know how fighting as the monsters will work in the game. It was revealed also that for those that don't like fanservice there is a 'Naive Angel' mode that will allow the player to keep the lewdness of Bayonetta's transformations tame. While I don't mind this and have had many arguments and debates about this I find it odd that a game with an M rating has to do this but I can understand why it's there. Also, a physical version of the first Bayonetta game will see a limited release on Sept. 30 for those that wish to have all three versions on a cartridge.

What did you think of the trailer? Are you looking forward to the game when it releases? Leave a comment and let's talk about it.
