Well how do we feel about Goblin Queen aka Madelyn Pryor? I enjoyed the adaptation of Inferno that they did for this episode as it worked for the most part. I think giving this episode some horror elements worked great as well. Dealing with the fallout of the previous episode, we learn that Mr. Sinister was up to his shenanigans. Making as close to perfect of a clone of Jean Grey as he could and causing all kinds of headaches for the team. One of the standout sequences to me in this episode was Magneto vs Goblin Queen. The visual was so good and I think they did a good job of showing their power levels. The introduction of Mr. Sinister was done well too. I don't know how I feel about his voice though as I prefer the one from the original series. Its looking like Sinister may be the big bad for this season and I hope that he is. We also get to see Bishop taking Nathan into the future if you don't know who he becomes you should really watch the original series.
I thought this weeks episode was pretty good. There were a lot of crazy visuals and a lot of the story beats I thought were presented well. Really looking forward to next weeks episode. What did you think of episode 3? Leave a comment and let's talk about it.
The X-Men are back and this series picks up right where the original concluded. First I have to say I am digging the visual look of the series. This is how you do a continuation. The music, the intro and the whole style feels just like the original and that is a good thing. The story picks up with the team still defending mutants from the Friends of Humanity. I love how well the action is choreographed here especially with Cyclops. This is probably the best Cyclops has looked in any series animated or live action. They made him feel like the leader and it looks as though the creative team actually understands that his power is concussive force blasts and not eye lasers. The standouts to me though in those first two episodes are Storm and Magneto. Magneto has always been a sympathetic character especially when he's trying to do right. Storm is Storm, she is a goddess and her voice actor simply nails the character everytime. The episodes end on cliffhangers and the one for episode two is a fun one. I know what storyline they are pulling from so its going to be very interesting to see how they adapt that one to screen. Back in the original they were able to adapt both the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix Saga pretty well so I have faith here as well. I think the character addition of Bishop to full time is interesting seeing as how in the original he was only used in a few arcs. I am also wondering if we will get cameoes from other X-Men and X teams in the future.

Thoughts
This season of Halo had a number of improvements over the previous season. Season 2 felt more focused, narrative wise had better meaningful moments. Characters that felt like afterthoughts got to flex this season and gave them something to do. For example, the story with Soren and Laera was my favorite side story of the season and it tied into the overall narrative. The new showrunner, Kiki Wolfkill did an amazing job of keeping what made sense and tieing that into a narrative that worked throughout the entire season. While we didn't get to see the Prophets at all this season did a good job of focusing on Maake and the Arbiter and what was going on within the Covenant. Lastly, I will say that another plus was there introduction of the Flood. I loved the look and how the tone shifted to sci-fi horror when they were released.
I did have a couple of issues with this season. One having to do with the passage of time. They didn't do a real good job with this as somethings just felt like it happened to fast and there is now way that could have happened when thinking about how certain situations happened. The other thing is that they didn't explain how certain characters wound up in the situations they were in, for example, at the end of Season 1 Halsey is on another planet planning her next moves; at the beginning of Season 2 she is captured and there is not a mention of how that happens. Also, Cortana being removed from John, an act that supposedly would kill him according to the Season 1 finale just happens and everything is a-okay. It was a little confusing to me.
For Parents
Just like season 1 this was rated TV-14. There is a lot of action and there are a couple dismemberments but its not to gory. The season finale does turn into a horror/body horror show with the introduction of the Flood so please keep that in mind. Other than that I think the show flows very well and is great for fans of the game and sci-fi genre fans.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I enjoyed the season and would highly recommend it. I think they did a good job with making the stakes high and there were a decent amount of emotional moments. It will be interesting to see if this show gets a Season 3 greenlight, I am hoping that it does seeing as how the ending was and we are finally on the Halo. Have you seen Halo Season 2?
