Thoughts
The X-Men are back and this series picks up right where the original concluded. First I have to say I am digging the visual look of the series. This is how you do a continuation. The music, the intro and the whole style feels just like the original and that is a good thing. The story picks up with the team still defending mutants from the Friends of Humanity. I love how well the action is choreographed here especially with Cyclops. This is probably the best Cyclops has looked in any series animated or live action. They made him feel like the leader and it looks as though the creative team actually understands that his power is concussive force blasts and not eye lasers. The standouts to me though in those first two episodes are Storm and Magneto. Magneto has always been a sympathetic character especially when he's trying to do right. Storm is Storm, she is a goddess and her voice actor simply nails the character everytime. The episodes end on cliffhangers and the one for episode two is a fun one. I know what storyline they are pulling from so its going to be very interesting to see how they adapt that one to screen. Back in the original they were able to adapt both the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix Saga pretty well so I have faith here as well. I think the character addition of Bishop to full time is interesting seeing as how in the original he was only used in a few arcs. I am also wondering if we will get cameoes from other X-Men and X teams in the future.
