So this is the episode where we get the flashback of what happened in Marc's life. I liked how the writer's used the Asylum as a way to go through the important story moments. It was very interesting to see how Marc came up with the Steven persona, especially with his explanation of it. It kind of hit me in the feels a little bit. There were a lot of moments in this episode where the emotional beats were plentiful and impactful. They're still teasing the third persona but not showing it. Personally, I like this touch as that reveal will probably happen in the season finale and that should be really cool to see. It's hard to do this without spoiling the episode, I would encourage people to watch the episode as I think Marvel did a good job with this one. It can be a little confusing if you don't understand Marc's dissociative identity disorder and how they are using the aforementioned Asylum as a way to help both Steven and Marc in their current predicament. Not gonna lie I did like how this ended and I thought they were going to have a mid-credits scene and they didn't which surprised me. Also, there is no Layla this week so I'm interested in what happened to her as the end of episode 4 was pretty hectic.
Overall Takeaway
I am looking forward to the season finale next week and what that could set up going forward. I also am interested in how this will be wrapped up. What do you think will happen in the season finale?
