Okay, after watching the finale I think that I am completely invested in seeing where this change in Kamala's origin is going to go. Before we get to that, this episode dealt with Damage Control and their need to be excessive douches. With that being said Kamala finally gets her "superhero suit" not gonna lie it looks good in motion to me. I liked the stills of it but it does look great seeing her in action with it. The big showdown scene takes place at the school and for the most part, I liked it mostly because of the comical nature of the plan and that it 'almost' worked. The tone does get serious towards the end of it and I liked it because they did it in a way that wasn't rushed in my opinion. This episode is another short one and thinking about it, it worked out for the better. The episode does tie up a couple of loose ends while also making that tweak to her origin that I think will work better for the MCU in the long run. Also, there is a post-credit scene that serves to set up Kamala's big screen debut in the second Captain Marvel movie releasing next year.
Overall I enjoyed the entire season. I think the best part of the series was the characters I just think they worked. The side characters especially were really good in my opinion. I love Kamala's dad and brother and I liked the fact that the jokes were never dragged out. The soundtrack was also very good and had my head boppin on more than one occasion. What did you think about the season and series overall? Did you like the tweak they made to Kamala's origin? Leave a comment and let's talk about it.
Yesterday Nintendo dropped a new trailer for Bayonetta 3, one of the games I am looking forward to this year, and announced the release date. Looks like October was the winner of the 'when is this game going to release sweepstakes', my money was on late September for the release but I'm okay with it being October. As far as the trailer is concerned we got introduced to the new witch Viola who gives off strong Nero vibes from the Devil May Cry games. It was also confirmed that she would be playable. The trailer also introduces the homunculi which will be the majority of the fodder for this game. There is also another cool mechanic that is teased in the trailer and that appears to be a sort of "demon fusion". The trailer shows Bayonetta fusing with Madame Butterfly for some nice combos. There also seem to be other fusions that will take place as well. As far as the visuals are concerned the trailer looks great and it looks like the team is moving forward with colors that pop. I liked how Bayonetta 2 looked and this looks to be along those lines. I love Bayonetta's new design too. While I didn't mind the Bayo 2 design I think this looks better. It also looks like the gang is all here too. Enzo, Luka, Rodin, and Jeanne are all in the trailer and I'm wondering how they will play into the story. The little pieces of gameplay that were shown look great but I would really like to see a Treehouse Live for this game. Trailer snippets don't do justice to what that combat will probably be. Also, I would love to know how fighting as the monsters will work in the game. It was revealed also that for those that don't like fanservice there is a 'Naive Angel' mode that will allow the player to keep the lewdness of Bayonetta's transformations tame. While I don't mind this and have had many arguments and debates about this I find it odd that a game with an M rating has to do this but I can understand why it's there. Also, a physical version of the first Bayonetta game will see a limited release on Sept. 30 for those that wish to have all three versions on a cartridge.
What did you think of the trailer? Are you looking forward to the game when it releases? Leave a comment and let's talk about it.
Did you like Thor Ragnarok? If you did I think you're gonna love this one. This movie adapts the Gorr the God Butcher arc from the Thor comics Jason Aaron run and parts of the Mighty Thor run when Jane was found worthy and held the mantle when Thor was deemed unworthy. That in and of itself should have been difficult to pull off but they found a way to do it where it makes sense in the context of the story they were trying to tell. Taika Watiti is back in the director's chair for this one and his quirkiness is all over this movie. There are some touching moments in the movie that don't pop up out of nowhere and they are done with a lot of respect to the source material. Gorr's story in the comics is one of those where you understand why he did what he did and there were points where I did agree with him. Christian Bale does a great job of bringing him to the big screen. I was worried about how they were going to use Natalie Portman's Jane character but I liked how that particular story was adapted. From a visual standpoint it looks great, everything that worked in Ragnarok they brought back here. The music is also another plus as well as going hand in hand with the film. There are also a lot of cameos in this movie and they are all funny, especially Russell Crowe's portrayal of Zeus.
If there was one thing I didn't like I think we didn't get enough time with Gorr. The comic made him a little more sympathetic but that's because that story took up 25 issues. Also, there is a post-credit scene that I think should have been in the main movie, or at least the character that they showed should have shown up in the movie.
For Parents
The movie is well-paced and has a runtime of an hour and fifty-five minutes. They are two post-credit scenes and both are good and worth the stay in my opinion. It's rated PG-13 and is your standard Marvel superhero movie I think it's just fine for the little ones. There may be some questions you have to answer about mythology afterward as a couple of jokes have to deal with some aspects of Grecian mythology. Also, there is a little nudity but that was indicated in the trailer and it's played as a joke.
Overall
I think this movie is a lot of fun. It's not long and well-paced. The action is well done and the jokes are never dragged out. The touching parts of the story are well done in my opinion as well. This movie gets a MATINEE from me, perfect for a weekend afternoon. Have you seen Thor Love & Thunder? Leave a comment and let me know what you thought about the movie. Thanks for reading.
This episode is the shortest of the season so far and it picks up right where the previous episode left off. We're given a look at 1942 British occupied India and how that affected the people. One of the plot threads in this series has been about the partition that happened in India and how it affected the people. In this episode, we get to see some of that and we finally get to meet Aisha and see a little of what happened the night Nani got separated. Now some of what happened in this episode were foreshadowed and very predictable but even still the way it happened was very cool to see. The main issue I had with this episode was the fact that it felt like something was missing. I wanted to stay with Aisha a little longer. Also from a personal standpoint, I think this episode should have come earlier in the series or at the very least had a couple more flashbacks with Aisha. Back in the present, we find out that when you are banished from the Veil they mean it. That was a very interesting way to end that particular plot point as normally stories don't handle it that way. The ending of the episode is also weird as I feel like this episode did a decent job of being a season finale. It's going to be interesting to see how Marvel wraps things up with this show. I kinda feel bad for this game as Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is releasing the next week, that was until I played the demo. Square Enix has once again blessed the timeline with another HD2D game, the remake of the 1994 JRPG LiveALive that was then only released in Japan. This demo allows gamers to play three chapters of the game: The Distant Future, Imperial China, and Twilight of Edo Japan. With progression transferring over when purchasing the full game. I have been a fan of their HD2D offerings as I love Octopath Traveler and enjoyed the demo of Triangle Strategy. Now if we could just convince Square Enix to do something with Chrono Trigger, fingers crossed that somewhere down the line we get that one.
Imperial China
This chapter has you taking control of a kung fu master looking to find an apprentice to pass on his style to. This was my favorite of the demo as I got a chance to play with the combat which is turn-based-ish, it's hard to explain but once you spend some time with it, it's pretty easy to pick up. Each chapter has a Star Wars-esque opening giving the player an introduction and story beats to get started. In this particular chapter, you find three apprentices in different locations and you get to learn a little about their particular character. This chapter ended with probably the most organic ending spot out of the three chapters available for the demo. I am really looking forward to seeing what else will happen in this one. I liked all three apprentices and I think this will probably be one of if not my favorite chapter when the game releases.
Twilight of Edo Japan
Who doesn't love ninjas? In this chapter, you play as the young ninja prodigy Oboromaru. This chapter can be played in two ways, 1. you can fight every enemy you encounter, or 2. you can use stealth. On my playthrough, I used a mix of both as I wanted to level up somewhat and it appears you can only do that be combat. There were some times when stealth was the better option and I'm glad they had the option as this particular chapter can get confusing as far as the map is concerned. This chapter was my second favorite of the demo and for me, I think the visuals popped better in this chapter than the other ones that were available. This chapter ends in an odd spot as I feel that where this one ended may be either a boss battle or a cinematic is going to take place. I guess we'll just have to wait another couple of weeks before we can find out if Oboromaru can complete his mission or not.
The Distant Future
This was my least favorite of the chapters we got to play in the demo. Mostly because you don't really do anything combat-wise. This chapter is more story-based as you play as a newly completed robot named Cube on a spaceship. After waking up and meeting the rest of the crew Cube is free to roam around the three levels of the ship. I thought they did a better job with the map in this chapter than in the other two so that was a big plus. There is a mystery that is going on in this chapter but this is another chapter that ends in an odd spot. As it ends right as something big is about to happen.
Overall Thoughts
From the visuals to the soundtrack I think that Square has another hit on its hands. I had fun overall with the demo and it took about 3 hours to complete the demo as a whole, about 45 minutes for each chapter (I got stuck at one point in Twilight of Edo Japan). I really wish we could have gotten to play the Wild West chapter as that is the chapter I am most looking forward to diving into when the game releases. Also, the game has voice acting in it as well and it is well done in my opinion. Have you tried the demo? Leave a comment and let me know what you thought about it. Thanks for your support if you like the blog feel free to share it.

Thoughts
So yeah this is my GOTY 2022 just sayin'. Now to be completely honest I am a TMNT fan but this game puts me in the mind of Turtles In Time and the Arcade game. Dotemu once again hits it out of the park, just like with Streets of Rage 4. The game is your standard side-scrolling beat-'em-up fare with a nice selection of characters. From a story perspective, the game takes its cues from the 1987 cartoon show with some of the original voice actors reprising their roles. Many of the bosses in the game are also from the cartoon. Characters like Slash, Baxter Stockman, General Traag, ChromeDome, and Captain Zorax talk about good Saturday morning memories. From a visual standpoint, the game uses a pixel-art style that gives off old-school arcade vibes. The game can be viewed as a nostalgia trip but I would say that if it is then it is one that is done properly. With a number of characters to choose from, in-game achievements, and a plethora of collectibles and hidden secrets, it's completely worth the trip down memory lane.
The Gameplay
It's a beat 'em-up not much more to it than that honestly. You have 6 characters to choose from at the start with one being unlocked once you beat the Story mode. Each of the turtles as well as Splinter and April all feel unique and have different strengths and weaknesses. The game shows you each character's stats at the character select screen. For example, Leonardo is balanced between speed, power, and range while Raphael has more power but less range. There are 10 power levels to reach for each character that increase certain stats and abilities. This leads to the replay value for this game as on my first playthrough I beat the game with Leo at level 6, there is also an achievement for completing every character's max power level. There are challenges in each level and they range from simple to annoying. That's not to say that it isn't possible to complete those challenges but you will be replaying some levels a lot to get to a point where you can do complete them. This game has multiplayer support both online and couch and you can play with up to 6 characters. Those multiplayer games are intense and fun as you can do team attacks as well as save a teammate when in trouble. In my opinion, the game is at its best when played with people, especially couch co-op.
The Music
I wanted to make sure that I talked about the soundtrack. I love the soundtrack to this game. There is a variety of tracks that I think just work for every level. By now I think most people have heard the track 'We Ain't Came To Lose' by Ghostface Killa and Raekwon the Chef of the Wu-Tang Clan. This song plays during the Shredder boss fight and I can't tell you how much it works and fits. If you have a chance pick it up or at the very least stream it as I think it is very good and worth a listen.
Overall
PLAY THIS GAME!!! This game is fun from top to bottom and made me miss and want remakes of classic arcade titles like The Simpsons and X-Men the Arcade Game. Here's hoping that we get more coming down the pipeline. I am looking forward to what Dotemu comes out with next as they quickly becoming one of my favorite indie developers. Have you played Shredder's Revenge? Leave a comment and let's talk about it. Thanks for supporting the blog please check out the Wingin IT Podcast YouTube and Gaming channels.
This episode had some bumping music. I don't think I have ever really talked about the soundtrack to this show but I have been finding myself enjoying it a lot. So this episode we finally get to meet Nani, Kamala's grandmother and she is awesome. I said last week that the strength of this show lies in that the supporting cast is just so good and this week is no exception. We are also introduced to Waleed and Kareem aka Red Dagger, they help Kamala learn a little more about who she is and what the other Jin are trying to do. The action this week is way better than in previous weeks. I don't know what it is but it feels like it was shot better and the choreography was smoother. As viewers, we get to learn a little more about Kamala's mom and why she left and went to America. I think this week the best scenes are with Nani and Kamala and Nani and her daughter. I can't stress enough how good the supporting cast is in this show. I would say more but it would be going into spoiler territory and I don't want to do that here. The end of the episode has a very good cliffhanger that has me wondering what more can that bangle do. There wasn't anything about this episode that I didn't like it's not a long episode it's only forty-eight minutes and it does feel like it flies by pretty quickly. Have you seen the episode? What did you think about it? Leave a comment and let's talk about it.
Nintendo Mini Direct Available on Nintendo's Website or YouTube Channel
On Tuesday this week, Nintendo decided to drop a mini direct partner showcase. These partner showcases are usually filled with games from 2nd and 3rd-party teams and for the most part, have been pretty good. Usually, I feel that a Direct is good if there are at least 3 games that pique my interest or at the very least have me interested in learning more. Personally, this presentation just wasn't that good to me. I struggled for a few days trying to put my thoughts together and even watched the presentation again. However, I kept coming to the same conclusion. Now don't get me wrong, I am sure for a lot of people it was an awesome presentation but for me, it just fell flat and I think I may know why it wasn't really hyping me.
For one, while I am glad that Nier Automata is finally coming to the Switch I think that game should have been released earlier in the life cycle. That game was originally released in February of 2017 over five years later. I already purchased the game on my Xbox and I just don't see what Square can add to this game that will entice me to purchase it again. My fear is that there are many in my situation that has already purchased the game on other systems and if it doesn't sell well excuses will be made (unfairly I may add) for other games not to come to Nintendo consoles. Secondly, Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, let's be honest we have seen a lot about this game at this point if you are going to get it, you're going to get it. I did dig the new trailer though but it's basically what you see is what you get. The only other game that piqued my interest was Sonic Frontiers. I don't really know why but I am really liking what I am seeing from the game and the possibilities. Here's hoping that Sega can stick the landing as I love the Sonic Adventure style games and think that this is the natural progression of that style. Everything else was just games that didn't interest me or just plain weren't memorable. I always make sure to go into these presentations with my expectations in check, so I'm not pissed off I guess you can say I'm just underwhelmed with the presentation overall.
So let me know what you thought about the presentation in the comments below? Did you like it? Did you not like it? Let's talk about it. Thanks for reading and sharing this blog if you like the content.
